HI EVERYONE !!

Well, the flowers are blooming everywhere, and we're in a most beautiful time of the year!  As I mentioned in my last missive, I've been working on a painting especially for the Swedish Museum of Philadelphia.  My friend Elin had asked me if I would donate a painting for their annual fund-raising auction, and I was happy to take up the challenge.  The AUCTION WILL TAKE PLACE:  APRIL 23 to MAY 8, 2021 and will be viewed virtually on their website:     americanswedish.org    You will be able to view all the lovely and varied items that are available to bid on, from handmade jewellery to handwoven shawls, art, ceramics, etc.  When I dropped off the painting, Elin treated me to a tour of the auction display room, gift shop, and display rooms in their impressive building.

The Swedish Museum will be partnering this year with the Philadelphia Flower Show, held outdoors for the first time at the FDR Park, on Pattison Avenue, June 5th - 13th.  When you attend the Flower Show, your ticket will also enable you to go through the Museum, where some of the displays will be located.

I'm going to be hanging two of my other paintings for sale in the gift shop there for the Flower Show, and our family have already bought our tickets.

Here's a photo of my painting    "WILDFLOWER  COTTAGE"

Fronting the thatched cottage is a field of wildflowers that are loved in Sweden, linnea borealis (the hanging tulip shapes) and Lilies of Kings Meadow (the pinks).  I hope you'll tune in to the auction!

I've had a lifelong interest in art, but with a busy 35 year career in real estate (Remax Main St. in Moorestown NJ), raising 3 daughters and in due course, babysitting for 5 grandchildren, I could not pursue that interest.  Now since my retirement 7 years ago, I have the wonderful opportunity of taking art lessons in oil, and spending time recreating some of the beautiful scenes that have spoken to me.  My paintings include scenes from New Jersey, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Cape Cod, Ireland and a special favorite of mine, British Columbia.

PLEASE  BE  SURE  TO VIEW  THE  OTHER PAGES  (Above, under my name)  TO  SEE  MY  PAINTINGS,  BOTH  AVAILABLE  FOR  SALE  AND SOME  THAT  ARE  ALREADY SOLD  OR GIFTED  TO  FAMILY OR  FRIENDS.

WILDFLOWER COTTAGE oil, 12" x 16"

I had my first solo art show, all of December, 2019 at the beautiful gallery at the Warden's House, High  St., Mt. Holly, showing 32 of my paintings.  What a thrill!  So many old friends, past clients, and of course family came, and I  sold several of the paintings as well as the plexiglass Christmas decorations.
